Summary:   This sighting was in the early 1960s when I was 14 and had not heard of ufos yet, but watched it with friends for about 45 minutes. When I was 14, I lived in a tiny town in utah and had not heard of ufo’s, although this was not my only experience in that town. We lived in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. The cemetery was a high hill in the center of town (still is), and all of us kids liked to meet up (in summer) after the parents were asleep, on this hill to tell scary stories. We slept out in our sleeping bags in various friends yards, all summer…then would head up to the cemetery when the coast was clear. It was always various numbers of us, never the same. This particular night, about 5 or so of us..can’t remember exactly who all was there anymore, were telling stories when one of the kids, pointed to the mountains and said, “what is that”… We looked, it was against the mountains to the east, large, metallic, and saucer shaped, with colored lights flashing off and on in a circular direction. At first we were afraid and stood up to head for home. One of the boys said, “They already know we are here, so no point in running.” We sat back down and continued with our stories. We were not afraid any more, but still occasionally monitored it. Eventually, after about 45 minutes or so, someone noticed it was gone. We finished our stories and went home. I don’t remember any of us ever talking about it again. When I look back on it now…I wonder at how we were so nonchalant about it…and how it was that one of us said…”they know we are here…” Our ages at that time were about 14 to 16. I was 14 at that time and moved away with my family when I was 16…never saw those kids again. I have seen other ufos and other phenomenon in other places over the years.

Summary:   I was 11 yrs old. My Aunt and Uncle and I were driving from Elmira NY to Bradford PA we were in the hills coming around a bend near a farm and we saw the object hovering over a farm. It was near a barn and cow pasture and the object just was hovering about 100 feet above the ground. As we came nearer it did not move, it just sat in the air silent and still not moving at all. There were colored lights like fire just illuminating the object like liquid light flashing all sorts of fiery colors, but it was contained as it were from within the object. When we were about 500 feet from the object we stopped the car and just watched it for awhile. It all of a sudden shot straight up into the sky until it became very small, I never saw anything like it, it got to a certain point and then it did a 45 degree angle and it shot out across the hills and disappeared. It never made a sound at all. I never saw anything like it before or after.

Summary:  Clear object, twinkling lights in side, image in grey uniform, military style cap, paralization,loss of time and memory. I will try to be as brief and accurate possible: I am not sure of the exact date, but due to my date of birth and the year I was living in that area at the time, I can estimate the year to be, 1962 and around 6 or 7 pm in the evening. I am now in my 60’s so it would put my age round 9 or 10 yrs old when this happened and can remember this like it happened yesterday. I will never for get it. I was living in Opa Locka, Florida, at the time, with my two adult sisters. They asked me to please help them by taking the clothes off the line out side before it got dark, so I was in the process of doing that chore. When I felt an odd feeling come over me. As though some one was behind me, and I could feel some sort of heat or some thing. As I turned around to look, I saw this object hoovering over top of the pine trees across the street from our house. I do not know how to judge the distance but I can tell you it was close enough for me to see in side. It had a clear shield or was “all clear” at first. Blended with the clouds. Then I could see an out line of some kind of metal. I thought it was a blimp maybe at first, due its shape, but there was not sound and it was not moving like a blimp at all. As it materialized It was not a blimp shaped but more like a thin sphere. Oval like, and what metal I could see was shiny bright. I could see a figure inside which appeared to be a slender male, I could not see the face, or, I just do not remember. Maybe a am just assuming it is a male figure. It was either standing or sitting by a control panel of some sort. I could see tiny lights blinking.

The figure was moving its arms as if it was working some kind of controls or some thing. And was watching me, looking right at me, then looking down at some thing. It was all grey, or had grey like a uniform,(?) with grey military style cap, flat at the top with duck bill. I do not remember any symbols on any of the clothing. But I do remember the back ground lights on the inside of the craft. They were diff colors and twinkling.  I began to feel strangely and I became paralyzed like, numb feeling all over. I could not move at all, nor could I cry out. I felt some kind of pressure on my body like a vibration maybe, and heard a low humm….could see some thing around the craft like it distorted the air around it maybe. After that I dont remember any thing. The next thing I know. I was walking into the house with out the clothes basket, and my sisters were angry with me. They had been looking for me for over an hour or so. I told them I was out side in the back yard, taking down the clothes, but they said NO I was not, and wanted to know where I went, because they went all over the neighborhood looking for me, as well as a neighbor. I could not answer their questions, but I tried to explain the weird craft I saw, but they did not believe me. They wanted to know where I went, but I just did not know, so they thought I made up a story to cover my butt. And I was grounded for few days HAH! To this day I cant remember where I went, or what happened, but I can remember the incident like it was yesterday, and have had strange experiences all my life from that point on. Strange dreams etc…being appearing… Some type of sleep paralyses that occur when a male figure appears in my room, like a shadow, wearing long black cape and a large brim hat, among other things that have occurred. Out of all the UFO photographs I have not seen one such as the one I saw. Or maybe I just cant remember all the details.

Then in the year 2005, in north Fla, I saw a strange light in the sky above our apt. I thought it was plane head lights, but it would have been to low to be a plane. The beam of light was triangle in shape, an then a huge owl appeared out of no where, flying in front of the light, in the light, looking down right at me, and sounded off with a loud screech, hoovering above me. I was not frightened, but excited. My son and daughter were with at the time, so they saw it too. The light lased for about 1/2 hour or so. A few days later I had a dream that me, my son and daughter, were coming out of the apt, when I noticed a huge round light that at first I thought was a full moon on the rise. But then I looked to my left and saw the moon. I said to my children, since when do we have to moons.? Instantly, the light changed into a sphere, of some sort of strange metal that looked almost lead in color, smooth with strange design.like where widows might have been, but no glass. Just shapes like beveled windows. I can draw it plain as day. Any ways… It began to shine a light from the center of the round sphere, which started off to be like a blue light and turning to a very bright white light with intensity, till you could see nothing but the light. Then it swooped away into the sky with great speed,leaving a cinder like trail. Reminded me of a sparkler. Then as quickly as it speed off, it came back, and flashed a very bright light, that was very hot, at me, my son and daughter but they dont remember any thing at all, other than the light and owl incident. But any ways that light was so bright that we had to turn away from it and cover our eyes. If it was a dream or reality they cant remember any thing but the owl and light. I dont know what all is going on, but I can tell you that I know, what I know, and what has been occurring in my life is real, with out any doubts. I watch the heavens all the time wondering about it all. These are just a few incidences I am sharing with you, because they are the most memorable in my mind. Fresh as yesterday. Have these things been Alien encounters due to their nature? Do you know of any one having similar experiences? Has any one ever seen a UFO that is similar to what I have seen, or the strange shadow man in the night? It bothers me that I have no answers for even my self, and cant afford hypnotism, much less afraid of the ridicule. What I have just shared with you is to my knowledge true to the facts presented. It is my hopes that some one will read this and share their similarities if any. Or some one can help me figure out what the heck is going on. I do not have photos nor did any one else see what occurred.

Summary:   Bigger than full moon sized yellowish-silver sphere flying over house at dusk seen by boy on bicycle. I was a boy of 7 years old, riding my bike on the street in front of my home. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was at dusk, still very much daylight I was busily pedaling my bike from a dead stop ,and looking toward my right. Suddenly popping up over the eastern horizon directly in my sightline came a moon-like object yellowish-silver in color and moving very fast, it flew right over my house and disappeared behind the tree line on the western horizon. It probably took 12-15 seconds from eastern to western horizon.
In comparison it was bigger than any full moon I’ve ever seen. It also had some sort of protrusion at about 2 o’clock resembling an elongated “Z” like tail approx 1/10th the diameter of the body of the object. I had not even heard of flying saucers at this point and told myself that it was a comet because a comet was the only thing like this I’d ever of which had a tail. I saw what I believed to be a similar object 30 years later.

Summary:  This was my first siting (5 more as the years went by). I was almost 7 at the time and we had spent the day in Ridgewood NJ house hunting. My father was going to start work in NY city as Sr. Engineer building 222 Broadway (the building is still there today). We were driving home to Utica, NY and going north on the NY turnpike. I had fallen asleep in the back of the station wagon and it was late in the afternoon. I remember the sun in my eyes as I was trying to sleep. I heard my parents talking and you know when your young that you know something is wrong when you hear the tone of their conversation. I picked my head up and asked what was wrong. My father told me to go back to sleep. Of course I did the opposite. I looked up front. My brother was asleep but my sister and mother were looking out the passenger side windows. I moved over to the window and when I looked out I saw a silver disc just above the trees following along the side of the car. It was silver/reflective and was about the size of a golf ball off to the east. I state the direction since the sun was on the other side of the car in the late afternoon and had not set yet. I remember saying something like it was neat at which my mother got mad at me an said there was nothing neat about it. She said she had told my father to get off the highway and go to a police station. My father stated that he had no plans to pull over and stop at a police station. If he did what would he say. They would think I was drunk of out of my mind. I asked how long has it been following us. My mother said too long but my sister said about 15 minutes. I said wow and was told to shut up by both my parents. As I looked out at the disc it seemed smaller. At that point it did not go higher, it just pulled away. About 10 seconds later it was gone. No one talked about the rest of the way home. The next morning at breakfast I said I could not wait for show and tell at school to tell everyone what happened. To my surprise my parents told me I should not talk about it and as far as they were concerned it was just some new type of airplane. Even at almost 7 years old I was already into planes ( I eventually became a pilot) and was putting together model planes. This object had no wings no propeller or jet engine. Well I told my story at school and was laughed at and my teacher told me I had a good imagination. As I said this was my first siting with more as the years went by.

Summary: Two civilian witnesses, one a retired USN Commander, saw a star-like object, bluish red changing to white, high in the sky on a  SE course of approximately 140 degrees from Tampa. This object or a similar object had been seen nightly on about the same flight path. The 660th Radar Station was called to check on the UFO and they reported a target on their height finder radar bearing 055 at 34,000 feet. Target moved up and down and remained in the same relative position. This object was still on the radar scope 5 June 61 and an F-102 was scrambled on the target. The aircraft reported contact but experienced ECM trouble and could not complete intercept due to jamming. Additional witnesses to the object were two tower operators of the 1928th AACS Det., MacDill AFB. An airman of the 660th AC&W Squadron also sighted the object.

An object emerged, hovering at 10 m altitude for a brief time, its underside glowing, and it left obliquely at high speed toward the northeast. Its shape was similar to a cone resting on a disk.

Summary:   A greenish light lit up the whole area. In approximately 1960 or 1961 (I was 14 or 15 years of age), I was laying on the floor of our living room watching TV in Carrollton, Texas. The drapes were open onto the patio. The glass area was approximately 22 feet. It was shortly after dusk. My mother was there too. I saw a green glow light up the whole outside. It stayed light for about one minute and then was gone. A neighboring family (2 adults and 2 children) was up at their trailer at Lake Texhoma (near Tanglewood and Lowe’s High Point) on this same night. They were sitting outside and saw the same greenish glow. A few minutes they heard and saw jets fly over. The jets were from Perrin Air Force Base, which was located outside of Dennison, Texas.

Summary:   My fiancé, Joe, and I were in the parking lot of Lenfant’s Restaurant that also had car service. This part of the parking lot faced Greenwood Cemetery separated by a chain link fence. This was in the very back of the parking lot, and was favored by young people who wanted to ‘neck.’ We had been out all day and had stopped in here for a soda before I had to ge home. It was on a Sunday because I had to be home by 9:00pm. We were talking when I noticed something moving in the cemetery between the tombs. (Let me explain that in New Orleans the tombs/graves are raised and can stand as high as 5-6 feet or more. They are rectangular and made of concrete with the front panel having the names of the family members buried there.) It seemed especially odd since the people moving seemed to be small, maybe 3/12 to 4 feet tall….children? This cemetery was bound by a railroad track, Interstate, main street, two restaurants and vacant land. There was no residential property bordering or close to this cemetery. The activity was brisk, as I could see the shadows between the graves moving back and forth in what appeared to be working. I also noted they seemed to go toward the right. (I think we/the car were facing west.) Then I saw small lights with some of the movement. My fiance noted this activity and asked me if I was seeing what he was seeing. He described the same things I had noted. We speculated that it would be very strange for children to be in there at night (this cemetery is locked every night) or at any time. We compared the size of the ‘kids’ to the size of the tombs and concluded their height. As we sat in disbelief just watching all this activity we also noted that we were the only ones parked who weren’t necking and probably the only ones noticing this. We watch for at least 10 minutes fascinated. Then all the movement seemed to move to the right and were no longer back-lighted so we could not see them. We shrugged and continued conversation.

Within several minutes, we then saw, on the right, lights coming on in a large circle. These were not any kind of light I had ever seen. Although they were illuminated, they did not give off light as is usual rather they were pure, the opposite of pitch black……if that makes sense. We stared fixed on this large ?? and watched as it lifted off the ground. Our windows were open and there was no sound. We were about 60-80 feet from this object. It lifted straight up slowly then it stopped were we could clearly see it was round and had a rounded top and flat bottom. Then the white lights went off and a triangle of lights appeared underneath the craft, one red, one green, one white. Then it took off toward the west at an amazing rate of speed. It was both continuing to climb and moving away from us. We just sat there, we couldn’t speak. We decided rather than talk about what we saw we would go visit my best friend and separately tell her our story. We looked around us to see who else might have seen this but everyone was occupied necking. We got to my friend, Ida’s, house both very shakened and told her we wanted to tell her something but we wanted her to hear it separately from each of us. She agreed and that’s what we did. After she told us that we both described the exact same thing.

Sometime in the 1980’s while visiting my friend who now lived in Florida, she asked me to relate the story to her husband once again. I did and she confirmed it was as I had told her 20+ years ago. The day after we saw this object, after school, we gathered several of our closest friends and drove into the cemetery to see what and where we were seeing. The area we were seeing was an area of newly built tombs, without fronts and vacant. We also noted that the size of the tombs compared to the size of the creatures was as we had concluded 31/2 – 4 feet tall. Then we drove to where the craft had been. This was an open grassy area. As we got out and walked this area we noted the grass was flattened completely in a perfect large circle but it was not burned or otherwise damaged. I don’t remember if we estimated the diameter of the craft. We told no one else fearing ridicule. About a month or so after this event, of which there was no mention on the news or radio, I was studying for finals and fell asleep with lights on with a book open. Something woke me up at exactly 3:00 am and I heard a voice calling me to the window. At this time I was living at my parents home and the front of our house including my bedroom faced a large lake. One of my walls was completely glass. I got up and went to the window and looked out. I saw nothing. But again I heard the ‘voice’, I knew it was not out loud but in my head. The voice was adult male and told me that they were coming to get me to take me ‘home’. He said they would be there shortly. I told him, in my head, that I was not going unless Joe and Ida were going too. He said they were coming. I felt strange, like I was responding to an unheard voice in what I did next. I went into my closet and took out a suitcase and started packing. It was like I knew what to pack without thinking about it. Then I wrote a goodbye and thank you letter to my parents telling them I was going “home.” In this letter I mention what of my possessions should go to who. Then I sat on the bed to wait. It seemed like a long time went by before I heard the man’s voice again. Again he instructed me to come to the window. He told me that plans had changed for now and they couldn’t come but that they would be back for me at another time. I went to bed.

The next day after school, I called Ida and asked her if anything unusual had happed last night. She told me that she was awakened by a man’s voice telling her he was coming for her and that Joe and I would be there too. She laughed and went back to sleep. Then I called Joe and he related the same thing. Neither Ida nor Joe said they heard a second message about them not coming. When I looked in my suitcase I had the strangest assortment of clothes for all seasons. And I still have the letter I wrote but it is undated. Several years later, Joe and I were married and we had two kids. One morning I was fixing breakfast and had the radio on. I heard the DJ talking about UFO sightings. He said if anyone had seen a UFO to call him. I did. He listened intently and then told me to be sure and stay tuned because I was in for a surprise. I called Joe so he could come listen too. As the DJ related many sightings in the area. He made direct reference about the craft coming from the cemetery which had been seen by people in every different direction of the area including people who were on the Interstate when this happened.

College graduate, RN. Divorced, had three sons with two living. Worked as ICU nurse, also headed a Quality Management department at large hospital, and was a medical-legal analyst. Now retired. I consider myself to be intelligent and open minded.  *** please note. The witness who posted this report in 2005 on the UfoEvidence website, is my spouse’s cousin, who passed on in 2018. I heard this account directly from her multiple times over the many years I knew her well. Like many individuals having a ‘close encounter’ experience, she also told of numerous other high strangeness events throughout her life. This particular sighting is of significance to me, as there was a second witness, as well as the report of other sightings in the area in this time frame a location. I hope that by posting this here, it will encourage others who may have recollections during this time frame to also consider posting these valuable, first-person historical records, during a time of unprecedented UFO sightings and close encounters during the 60’s and 70’s!

Summary:   I was roller skating with a friend in the back alley behind our house in the early summer of 1961. School was out so this was early in the day. It was a clear day with no clouds in the sky. When a shadow came over us we thought it was a summer thundercloud. We looked up and a large triangular object was just sitting there. It was a matte silver-gray, the tips more rounded instead of sharp, with no lights visible to the eye. There were no seams in the craft, it made no sound at all and there was nothing to indicate there was any type of an entry. It was very close, about 200 feet or so above us. We were only about 10 so the distance is hard to judge. My friend became extremely frightened and went home. I ran to my back door where my mother was coming out. I told her to come and look but when I turned to point it out, it had disappeared.

Summary:   Sorry about all the unknowns but it was a long time ago. I was with my Cub Scout troop in our back yard when we all noticed a bright light in the sky. It was going very slow. It then began a loop maneuver going at the same speed, much to slow for a conventional air craft to accomplish. We watched as 3-4 jets came in from the right as it came out of the loop. As the loop was finished and the jets got closer it took off vertically at a high speed. As I said it was a long time ago and I don’t recall specifics like direction or time of year. As I talk to the rest of my family and get better info I’ll add it.

The light was completely silent. The airplanes were very loud.The witnesses were aerospace engineer,helicopter test pilot, helicopter pilot,and farmer.

Summary:   It was around 7pm on a summers evening when I, my Mother, Father, and two brothers saw a disk shaped object in the sky. I would say it was about 100 yards above us. It had lights around the outer rim, which were red and green and flashing. It maintained a motionless station in the sky as we continued to observe it. I got the impression someone was looking down on us, I was 15 years of age at that time. After about 5 min. it first moved off slowly traveling in a north easterly direction heading out over lake Michigan then it suddenly speeded up in a flash and was out of sight in a matter of a couple of seconds. The most interesting fact I recall about that day is, after the sighting was completed non of my family members discussed what we saw. Everyone went back to what ever it was they were doing as if it never happened. My father still lives in Chicago at this time at the age of 83 and my two brother’s are now in their fifties, I am 57. My mother passed in 1967. Now this is going to sound strange, the next time I saw the almost exact same object was in the movie “Close Encounters of The Third Kind.” What we saw on that day looked just liked the first spaceship which first came over the landing area in that movie. Summary: I was staying with my uncle and aunt in dallas, georgia .i was around 13 at the time. my two cousins were out in the hills , running the woods, when we seen this very large disk shaped object above us. It was very large and not more than 30 to 60 feet above us.We at first didn’t know what to think. It was a lime green color and had windors in it, my cousin said look someone is looking out at us. An i saw this also, i don’t remember what steve his brother said. We watch it fly over us , it was moving slowly over the hills, then it moved very fast and was gone. If it had any writing on it ,i don’t remember. The Air Force came out the same night and days later to talk to people , but they wouldn’t talk to any kid in dallas , ga. I have thought about talking about for a long time, but you know how , it goes when someone starts, he’s crazy. My two cousin’s never talk about it. this was on the tv news at the time , but they wouldn’t talk to kids either. the Air Force made there statement on it was nothing , but weather balloon . glowing at night. right. but i saw dish shaped craft close up and it had windows and people in it. Am i crazy to say something?

Summary: At 39 degrees 45’N – 127 degrees 33′ W, approximately 250 miles NW of San Francisco, Calif., a Lockheed RC-121D aircraft of the 552nd AEW&C Squadron (Airborne Early Warning and Control) reported a radar sighting of two unidentified blips of unknown size on a heading generally N-S at an estimated speed of 4800 knots. These were tracked for approximately 3 minutes.

Summary:   I have seen several UFOs in my lifetime and reported them here. But my first experience with UFOs was when I was around 7 years old and did not see anything, but my father did. The time of this sighting is an estimate. I know where I lived at the time of this sighting and I was probably seven years old. It happened early in the morning, and I was not in school, so I am guessing it occurred during summer vacation. I remember my Dad and I were riding in his Oldsmobile 88, and we were traveling east on I-85 near Groometown Rd. in Greensboro, N.C. I know that because we had just left my grandparent’s house on Groometown Rd., they lived just a quarter mile off the highway. It was a very bright and sunny morning, and the sun was shining directly in our faces. Suddenly my dad became very excited and started shouting, “Look, look!” and pointing to his right which would have been southeast. I turned and looked, but I was blinded by the glare of the sun and could not see anything. I have very sensitive light green eyes and have squinted all my life when in sunlight. I said, “What is it Dad? Where is it?” He kept pointing and said, “Look, just over the trees there!” Again, I looked in the direction he pointed, but I could not see anything, and again the glare of the sunlight was giving me difficulty seeing.

Then, my Dad said, “It’s gone, it flew away.” I asked him what it was. My Dad told me he saw a bright silver cigar standing vertically come up out out the trees to our right, it leveled off horizontally just above the trees, and then just flew away. It was a very short sighting, maybe ten to twenty seconds at most. My Dad was very puzzled at what he had seen. He described it like “a rocket”, a long silver cigar object, about the length of the trees it came up out of. I am not sure how far away it was, but I got the impression it was very close. We heard no sounds. So, I did not see this object, but I believed my Dad. He was a very serious and sober person who did not often joke around. He was not one to make up stories at all. My Dad (passed away in 2009) was a very intelligent and educated man, he was a radar technician in WWII and served aboard an aircraft carrier. He worked as a civilian for the military as a radar technician until he retired, so he was also very familiar with military aircraft. That’s about it, this was my first experience with UFOs. I saw others years later in Florida where we had moved as a teen, and yet more in Connecticut where I have lived the past 23 years. But this first experience I did not see anything.

Summary:   The witnesses were driving along a rural road and had just topped a hill. Below them in the road was what appeared to be a gigantic pile of ‘tumbleweeds’. The witnesses had stopped the car and were trying to decide why this unusual sight was blocking the road and trying to determine what to do. Suddenly the entire gigantic pile of tumbleweeds lifted up slowly, then hovered for a few seconds before going straight up into the sky. There was no wind. The witnesses watched this object go up until it disappeared. After this sighting one of the witnesses developed unusual powers of mind reading and levitation. This lasted a few weeks but was so frightening that the person consciously stopped. The persons involved were a brother and sister and did not talk about the experience for decades..not even to each other. They both believe they lost time during the encounter.

Summary:   In the early 1960’s, midday, I was at a birthday party in neighborhood called Kingswood in Orlando, Florida, and a group of children and parents observed a UFO. I remember all of us going into the front yard and observing a saucer type UFO hovering, with lights on around the perimeter of it, over the neighborhood. Some people were screaming. It left so fast we couldn’t see it leave. I wish I could find others who were at this birthday party, but you don’t allow any contact info, unfortunately.

Summary:   Circular disks, two-tier object (small one on top) with large opaque “windows” on each tier. The windows that were all white on one tier and different colors on the other. Stayed motionless and soundless for about 15 minutes in broad daylight, then flew off into horizon. Appeared to be a few hundred feet in the sky and clearly observable.

The entire neighborhood stood at the end of their driveways and stared at the sky for hours.We seem to remember it was on the front page,then later explained as “temperature inversion”? Something about smog and the airport lights?

Summary:   I do not remember the exact year or month. I was a young girl and the word UFO, nor the idea of UFOs, was not in vocabulary. It was summer, the windows were open for ventilation and it was later than 10 PM at night. I couldn’t sleep because of the heat, so I moved to the foot of the bed and lay with my head and shoulders in the window. Our house was stucco, with a flat roof. There were no street lights in our town at that time. I had checked out the neighborhood, listened to the sounds and was cooling off. I heard a soft beep, beep, beep, with the beeps separated by 2 or 3 seconds. I couldn’t find the source of the sound. It was new to me. There were no vehicles, at that time, with back-up beepers. I rolled around inside the window trying to locate the sound and had finally settled on my back, watching the stars in a dark sky. There was no moon that night. From the corner of my right eye, to the east of the house, I saw something move. The beeping sound was right on top of me. I turned my head and saw a very large silver sphere. The sphere had spires at equal distances, all over the area I could see, perhaps 10 to 12 spires. Lights were on the ends of every spire. Some were blue, some white, some red. The beep and white lights seemed to pulse in unison. None of the red or blue lights went out when the white ones pulsed brighter and dimmer. I think I was in about the 5th grade, because I knew about the Russian satellite being launched and that the United States was about to/or had just launched our own. I remember thinking, “Oh, that’s what a satellite looks like.” I didn’t know that a large round ‘thing’ couldn’t fly, telephone pole high, with no motor sounds, no landing gear and no noticeable speed. I rolled over and watched it go out of sight, over the lights of Roby, ten miles away. I could hear the beeping sound for about 30 minutes, from start to finish. I have always wondered what it was, but only told friends about it 6 years later. I wasn’t worried about it, just assumed that it was a satellite. Are you able to tell me what it was?
