1963: March UFO & Alien Sightings
Date: March 1 1963
Location: Cordoba Argentina
Time:
Summary: A multicolored object, the size of a light truck, was reported to have landed in the vicinity of Lyle. Police searched an area over 3 km wide on both sides of the Iowa-Minnesota border, with no results. Cesar Domingo La Padula, Ariel Kaplan, and Ernesto Jose Ind, students of the Institute of Mathematics, Astronomy and Physics of the National Observatory of Cordoba, sighted a UFO while on the terrace of Mr. Padula’s home, attempting to adjust an antenna.
They said the object was completely irregular” and that once during the sighting the shadow of the object fell on buildings. Padula does not maintain that the object is a “flying saucer” and adds nothing to the report except the above.
The newspaper, “Cordoba” published the photos (see cut) on their front page, remarking: “Are they or are they not from another world, flying special missions over our planet?” The newspaper, “La Voz del Interior,,, besides publishing on that occasion two of the photos and comments about them, confirm the sighting of the object with the added comment that corroborating witnesses watched the object from the Airport of Cordoba.
The time of day of the sighting and subsequent photographs, was 5:30 p.m. Doubt concerning the incident was expressed in the newspaper ,,Los principios” in an interview with the photographer of the National Observatory of Cordoba, Mr. Julio Albarracin who said he gave no credence to the report, and that he felt it was the product of a “youthful mentality” (juvenile hoax). He also stated that the photos show an object that reflects a “strange light,, from the lower side and has a shadow on the upper side, the angles of the photo are contradictory and there are other details that make the whole incident suspicious. However, the newspaper,.Cordoba,, said that members of the Institute decided to have the photographs analyzed. by professional photographers who informed them the pictures were not fakes. We are making inquiries to get prints from the original negative and additional testimony and details-if we are successful, more will be featured in comins issues.

Summary: Following the publication of the Paso del Cabello photo in “El Universal,” the Caracas newspaper received a letter from Mr, Delio Ribas of Valera, State of Trujillo, Venezuela, in October, 1966, enclosing a photo taken three years earlier (1963) on a AVENSA flight from Barcelona to Maiquetia, Venezuela. This photograph is an original from the negative, which is in the possession of the pilot who took the picture. Mr. Ribas stated that “the airline pilot who took the photograph and myself are absolutely certain that the object is one of the so called flying saucers. The pilot does not wish to speak much on the subject because he has been the object of ridicule by some of his Venezuelan fellow pilots and also certain pilot friends in the USA.F . . .” The authenticity of this photograph was questioned by Capt. Larry Gibson, a skeptical commercial pilot, on the basis that the dark line around the disc which he supposes is shadow, does not coincide with the shadows of the plane and the disc cast on the ground; and that the object seems to be nothing more than the “button which locks the window to the crew compartment.” However this objection does not explain how this “button” could cast such a large shadow (almost half the size o{ the plane itself.) Mr. Fernando de Calvet a professional topographer and geometrician made a study ol the position of the shadows and demonstrated mathematically that all the objects and details in the photograph bear absolutely exact relations with each other. Also, Mr. Konrad IIoneck, electronics engineer, and Mr. Miguel Sapowsky, ano(her engineer in charge of the technical department oI a large Caracas Television station, have substantiated Calvet’s explanation: mars

Summary: In the spring of 1963 I had just turned fifteen years old and had gotten my driver’s license. A friend of mine and I had a double date with two young ladies we had been dating for a while. We were in my dad’s car. We picked up our dates at approximately 7:00 PM. After getting a burger we proceeded to a “parking spot” in the edge of the country that I had recently found. As I pulled into the area I turned the car to the right, and I stopped the car with the nose pointing basically northeast. I was looking out through the front windshield when I noticed what appeared to be the full moon rising. I had a telescope as a kid and kept up with the phases of the moon and knew there was no full moon at that time. As I recall there was no moon in view at all. However, the first object I saw had the appearance of a full moon in color and close in size as well as it rose above the horizon. As it rose into the sky it changed in color from a deep reddish gold to white much as the moon does. As I watched, a second object the same size and color rose from the same place and went through the the same appearance changes as the first. Then a third object appearing identical to the first two rose into the sky. They were in what I call a “reverse lazy L” with the third object being slightly left of the first two and below horizontal to the second looking something like this in the sky: (^) (^) (^) They were moving almost directly toward me. It was a perfectly clear night as I recall it. They were identical in appearance as far as I could tell. They were very striking in the sky. I excused myself from the car and my date and walked about twenty yards from the car in the dark. The objects were now well up into the sky at about 45 degrees above the horizon. I am not a good judge of altitude at night, but I will guess they were somewhere around 2000-2500 feet. They were “Piper Cub” slow, and taking a guess they seemed to be flying somewhere around 70 mph in formation perfectly together. At that point I called out to my friend to join me. To give you an idea of how striking they appeared, when my friend got about half way to me our dates saw them and completely panicked. They were screaming and crying for us to take them home. I asked my date to calm down, that this would only take a few minutes, and we would go. She seemed ok with that. However, from time to time the screaming would break out again. At one point I remember one of them asking, “what’s that”, and the other said it’s a dog. Then quite… AS my friend and I watched, the craft continued on their course from NE to SW. They were perfectly silent. I could see stars disappear and reappear behind them as they flew. They were three separate objects. There were no other aircraft that I could see or hear. I was fifteen years old, had 20/20 plus vision, and according to the USAF in 1969 had much better than average hearing. Their appearance : They appeared to be about 2/3rds the size of a big full moon in the sky. They were perfectly circular looking at them from beneath, and I did not notice any feature I could call the top. Imagine a man’s plain gold wedding band, a little broader band than the ladies’ version, an ovaled edge and charged with the most beautiful color gold you can imagine. And I mean “charged” with what I will call an almost nuclear appearance, resembling a very bright aurora. That would be the outside edge of these craft. They were lit from edge to edge with the area just inside the edge (which was white) appearing to have less light than anywhere else but yet bright. They were gradually brighter looking toward the center. Then in the center was something that looked like Jupiter on a bright night that was slowly undulating and twinkling. As the first two came to almost overhead the light of the third object appeared to fluctuate from side to side and it had changed direction flying to the northwest. They flew away on those courses until they were out of sight. I felt no threat from these craft. in fact I remember a feeling of tranquility as I watched them. At one point I had a feeling of mutual awareness. When we walked quickly back to the car, the girls were very upset with us. One shouted, “Look what time it is!” Indeed it was almost 10:00 PM, and I was late getting my date home which in those days was serious business. I remembered hearing one of them shout, “What is that” and the other saying, “It’s a dog”. So I asked about it, but they said that it had not happened which seemed odd to me. My girl stayed upset with me for a couple of weeks.
The following Monday at school (9th grade) I came out of a class and saw a couple of friends. I was telling them the story when suddenly a young man came up to the group that had assembled and loudly announced that he and his dad had also seen them and that they were not “flying saucers” and that we were not supposed to be talking about it. All the group flushed in different directions. I never knew who the kid or his dad were. To be fair there is an airport in the direction the first two flew away toward. There is also a Naval Air Station about 65-70 miles away in the direction they came from in Meridian, MS. I also have seen large black, unmarked, dual rotor helicopters that come from the NAS flying that approximate course from time to time up to the present. I entered the USAF in 1969.I was stationed at a SAC base in Orlando, FL. I have serviced many air craft from B52’s , KC135s, C130s, many fighter air craft, and including U2’s that were top secret at that time. I have seen about every running light and approach and landing light that existed at that time. I serviced Air Force 2 twice. However, I have never seen anything like what I saw that Spring night here at home. I believe it was about 8:00 PM when I first saw “the moon” rising, while I knew it was not the moon. I watched the craft for I think eight to ten minutes. When I got back in the car it was almost 10:00 PM. I do not know where the time went. What I can tell you is that my friend would never talk about it all. The last time I talked to him before he passed I asked him again what he thought about it all. He said, “lights”, and he changed the topic. I have lost contact with the girls. They are probably still angry with me, lol.

Summary: Fred White was fishing when he heard a high-pitched whine coming from the east and saw an object come in his direction and land 15 m away, scattering sand. It was at least 30 m in diameter, and was shaped like two plates glued together. Through several oval portholes he could see light inside. A man with a fair complexion, wearing a metallic helmet, looked at the witness. He wore a sky-blue, one-piece coverall with no visible buttons or fasteners, and gloves made of shiny mesh. Warm air was felt as the craft took off about six min later, and radio interference was noted.

Summary: Looking out over the bay, we saw two silver objects shaped like pencils…can’t remember seeing exhaust…. They were about a half mile away (it seemed) or closer. They looked to be about 200 feet above the water. They were flying close together and toward the north. They looked just like silver pencils in every way…were cylinders. It was a clear day. I watched them with binoculars and they looked the same as they did with the naked eye. As I handed the binoculars to my husband, they vanished….he did not see them with the binoculars…but did get a good look at them with the naked eye.

Summary: In early 1963 I was in Navy boot camp at Great Lakes Illinois. While stand watch one night a craft of considerable size appeared over the base. It was moving very slowly and completely silent. It’s hard to estimate size but I would guess 200 Ft. in diameter and at less than 2000 Ft. altitude. It had rectangular “windows” on the outer circumference which glowed with a red-orange light as the craft slowly revolved. I don’t recall anything about the actual shape other than it was round. I think I was so transfixed by the lights that I never tried to make out anything else. Or perhaps it was just such a dark night that the outline couldn’t be seen. I don’t really know. The craft moved slowly toward the far end of the base. There were probably hundreds of trainees looking out the barrick windows. As I stood there dumbstruck a base security truck pulled up to the gate I was guarding and ordered me to get it open and fast. I did so even though my orders were that no one, not even the C.O. was to be allowed to use that gate. After my watch was over the sentry from across the highway which divided the two parts of the base and was in my company came over and asked me, with his mouth hanging open, if I had seen that. Everyone saw it. I never heard another word from anyone about it.

Location: Clunes/Maryborough near Australia
Time: 2000 Duration: hours
Summary: I was just 9 months old and we were travelling from Clunes to Maryborough when it took us. Dad was screaming hysterically and they sedated him or something and put him in the wall in a drawer. It was all shiny inside, the best I could say for years was like chrome plating but better quality with round tables and what I called Marble Statues that were alive and in charge. I crawled up to the tallest and hit it on the foot for putting dad in the drawer and it raged at me. I was sucked into it’s big black hollow eyes and then we were at home. Only damage to car was paint burnt off roof and it sat in the yard for years. I was taken often after that, from my bed at night. The strangest part is that all of our neighbours son’s were killed at the exact same spot, at least 4 of them. I recently came across an old article about a sighting and abduction from the same spot a year earlier, and indeed it has been documented by several people. The whole town of Maryborough watched what I described as a fireworks show several years later that was witnessed by thousands of people. I still have to see a fireworks display that beats this one. Also of note is that at the same time in France at a place called Clunies (coincidence maybe) the same things were going on. I have a hankering to buy some land there and settle and so does my little sister who must have been conceived at about that exact night. In later years as I reached my 20’s the little ones changed from the nice little chaps to taller blonde beings after I moved to Perth and these beings came across as sexy and nice but then turned out to be constructs with many implements and instruments coming from their bodies, the pain was horrid. I then saw craft whilst living on Hamilton Island and have on other occasions seen what appear to be craft. That first incident though I had to wait until I could talk before I could ask my Mum about it. Dad thinks it was some sort of nightclub, of which I still have not found one yet to match and why a nightclub in the middle of the bush (like putting one at yellowstone or something). No one knows how we got home that night and no-one ever went near the car again till it was sold some 25 years on. The visits were very frequent in my early years. For some reason the news articles do not mention clunes in Australian article but I made the immediate connection as it was only less than 10 miles away as per the french sightings. It was like fire to me that is how brightly the object glowed outside.
