Summary: Object observed moving in a circle of 10 ft radius on the ground. Highly polished with no obvious aerodynamic appendages or propulsion structure. Object went airborne as my vehicle approached within appx 1000 feet. I visually tracked object take a 30 degree flight path toward the sw at a high rate of speed for appt 2000 ft before abruptly stopping in mid air. Object remained suspended for appt 10 secs before ascending straight up at extreme rate until out of sight relative to windshield visual area. I pulled over and returned to area initially viewed on ground. Observed that a circular trench had been impressed into grass where object was seen rolling in a circle before going airborne. Object was not visible upon exiting my vehicle. Ozone odor was noted near turf marks.
