Urban or Rural: Traverse City West is a rolling rural area of subs and farms. The object was directly over the golf course. The Grand Traverse Area is a Beautiful place to live with it’s peninsulas and bays.

Appearance / Description of the Object(s): The object seemed rectangular shaped ([[[[[[[[]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]). It had a brilliant or bright white light emitting from it.
Distance to Object(s): Distance away 600 yards. Just above treeline. 200 or 300 feet in the air off ground.
Shape of Object(s): Rectangular
Size of Object(s): Relatively, my hand would have to be sideways outstretched to cover the object. Actual size 150 to 200 feet long by 20 or maybe 30 feet tall. It was so bright and low that the height could probably vary.
Color of Object(s): Brilliant or bright white (emitted from the lighting).

Special Features/Characteristics: The craft was completely silent and remained motionless while hanging in the air over a golf course.

Summary/Description: After a Traverse City West High School football game which I believe was in 2001 I stopped to get gas at Meijer (local gas station). 
I then headed west home. At a stop sign at the top of Barnes Road I could see a bank of bright lights overtop some pines. I immediately thought it was an airplane coming into Cherry Capital Airport. I turned right and then left onto Harris? and then right onto Cedar run. After about 2 miles I came to the hill that goes down to the golf course. Coming down the hill I could see this enormous craft with brilliant lighting hanging in the air above the golf course. I knew it was not an airplane because it was not moving, and it was to big to be a helicopter. As I came right up and parallel to the golf course I slowed down and rolled down my window. I could not hear a sound.
At this point I began to shake. I was very afraid and continued on. My son was in the back of the van and I was fearing for our safety. The object was probably overtop the trees less than 200 feet. It was probably only about 600 yards away and for sure within 1/4 mile. I continued west over a hill and on the left there are 2 houses. I cannot remember which house, but at one there were 2 people standing outside looking in the direction of this aircraft. Farther up the road an airplane was approaching from the west heading east towards Traverse City unremarkably. I have stopped at one house and one person did not see anything. There are many houses in the area and I plan on stopping at least to the two houses where people were standing.
The witness’s account describes a highly unusual encounter with a massive, rectangular craft that defied conventional aviation characteristics. Unlike standard aircraft or helicopters, the object was noted for its total silence and its ability to remain completely motionless while hovering at a very low altitude—estimated at less than 200 feet above the treeline.
The sheer scale of the object (up to 200 feet long) combined with the “brilliant” white light it emitted left a lasting impression of fear and awe on the observer. Given that the sighting occurred near a local golf course and was witnessed from a close proximity of roughly 600 yards, the event stands as a significant Close Encounter (CE-I). While other potential witnesses were seen nearby, this remains a compelling solo-eyewitness report of a large-scale UAP in the Grand Traverse area.
